Storrs is located in the Quiet Corner of Connecticut, nestled in a patchwork of forests and farmland, but is not far from large urban areas such as Hartford (30 miles), Boston (90 miles), and New York (140 miles). Groceries and restaurants are available in Storrs itself and several nearby communities such as Willimantic (7 miles south) and Manchester (17 miles west).

Storrs Center

A new development comprising apartments, restaurants and other businesses opened August 2012 in Storrs Center, directly across Storrs Road (Route 195) from the University of Connecticut. Other phases are still under construction and will ultimately include a supermarket.
