Academic Advising

Freshmen interested in EEB should see Kathy Pais (Freshmen Biology Advisor) to declare their major and get advice. Kathy's office is in TLS 370 and her appointments are scheduled through AdvApp.

Other students interested in EEB should see Kathryn Upson (Undergraduate Coordinator) sometime during their sophomore year to declare EEB as their major and be assigned an advisor. Kathryn's office is in TLS 372 and her appointments are scheduled through AdvApp. She can also be reached by phone at 860-486-3644.

Students interested in Pre-Health Professions (medical, dental, physician assistant, optometry, physical/occupational therapy, etc.) should also contact the Pre-Medical Advising Office. They will be able to provide you with information on admissions requirements, as well as the application process and entrance exams.

Course Registration

Please follow these steps to prepare for course registration:

  1. Plan in advance. Do not wait until the last minute. It is never too early.
  2. Find out when your enrollment appointment is in Student Admin. Click here if you need directions on how to do this.
  3. Make an appointment with your advisor.
  4. Bring the following to your appointment:
    • A copy of your Academic Requirements Report. You can print this from Student Admin (click here for instructions).
    • A list of courses you are planning on taking next semester (with some alternates just in case). Search for courses and fill your Shopping Cart in Student Admin. Be sure to pay attention to time conflicts.
    • An idea of which courses you would like to take for the remainder of your semesters at UConn.

Final Plan of Study and Graduation Information

In order to graduate, you must apply to graduate through Student Admin and submit a final Plan of Study by the fourth week of the semester in which you are graduating. Click here for directions on how to apply to graduate.

Plans of Study are accessible on the Degree Programs page. You must make an appointment to meet with your advisor to review your final Plan of Study. You must fill out the Plan of Study ahead of time. Refer to your Academic Requirements Report when filling out your final Plan of Study (click here for instructions). If you appear to be eligible to graduate, your advisor will sign your final Plan of Study and then you must turn it into the Registrar's Office in Wilbur Cross.

If you have a double major, additional degree, or minor make sure you contact those departments directly.

Visit the Registrar's Office website for a list of Steps to a Successful Graduation.
