Academic Advising

Freshmen interested in EEB should see Dr. Terry Webster (Freshmen Biology Advisor) to declare their major and get advice. Dr. Webster's office is in TLS 370 and he is available on Thursdays from 8:30-12:30 and 1-5. He can also be reached by phone at x6-4155.

Other students interested in EEB, should see Jennifer Murphy (Undergraduate Coordinator) sometime during their sophomore year to declare EEB as their major and be assigned an advisor. Jennifer's office is in TLS 372 and she is available Monday - Friday from 8:30 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 4:30. She can also be reached by phone at x6-3644. If you want to make an appointment with Jennifer, click here and log in with your NETID.

Pre-Health Professions Advising (medical, dental, physician assistant, optometry, physical/occupational therapy, etc). If you are interested in attending a professional school after you graduate, then you should also contact the Pre-Medical Advising Office early in your career as well. They will be able to assist you with general info on getting into programs as well as the application process and entrance exams.

Course Registration

Please follow these steps to prepare for course registration.

  1. Plan in advance. Do not wait until the last minute. It is never too early.
  2. Find out when your enrollment appointment is on Peoplesoft. Click here if you need directions on how to do this.
  3. Make an appointment with your advisor.
  4. Bring the following to your appointment:

    - a recent copy of your Advisement Degree Progress Transcript (you can print this from the online course registration webpage). Click here if you need directions on how to do this.

    - a list of courses you are planning on taking next semester (with some alternates just in case).

    - an idea of which courses you would like to take for the remainder of your semesters at UConn.

After meeting with your advisor, your advising bar will be lifted.

Click on the following options for printable worksheets (entering year) that will help you determine which GenEd and major requirements have been met (note: you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader).

Final Plan of Study and Graduation Information

In order to graduate you must fill out a diploma application with the Registrar's Office during the semester prior to your expected graduation. This form can be filled out on-line from the Peoplesoft website. Click here for directions.

Your final plan of study is due by the fourth week of the semester in which you are graduating. You can pick up this form from Jennifer Murphy in TLS 372. You will need to have your advisor and department head sign the form so don't wait until the last minute. If you have a double major or minor as well, make sure you contact those departments directly.
