11/18/09 - Institute for Bird Populations - This organization provides exciting opportunities to be trained in avian monitoring techniques and gain invaluable field experience in the spring and summer of 2010. Training, housing and a per diem are included. You will:

  • learn to identify birds by sight and sound
  • contribute to continent-wide bird conservation efforts
  • develop bird-banding and field data collection skills that will look great on your resume

10/6/09 - Town of New Canaan Conservation Commission Internship

The Town of New Canaan is seeking an intern candidate to prepare the outline for a Natural Resources Inventory and ascertain where the information required to complete the individual tasks of the Inventory can be obtained. The intern will be working under the supervision of the Town Planner and will be required to provide the Conservation Commission with updates at their regular meetings. Candidates should be recent graduates or currently be enrolled as a graduate or undergraduate student specializing in ecology, natural sciences, environmental studies or a related field.

The rate of pay is $15.00/hour. We anticipate this phase to take approximately 120 hours.
