Who is eligible?
Although academic standards vary slightly among the programs,
it is preferable that students have a grade point average
of 2.7 and above. In addition, students wishing to enroll
in these programs must have some background in Biology.
Is foreign language proficiency
required?
Most of the science courses offered abroad are taught in
English, with the study of language as a complement to the
core curriculum. Some background in the language of the country
is highly desirable, but usually not required.
What does it cost?
Charges vary according to the individual program. Students
should read the specific brochure in order to ascertain what
is included in the cost. Expenses are also subject to change
due to fluctuations in the value of the dollar abroad. UConn
financial aid is usually applicable, and the Study Abroad
office (and some programs) offer some scholarships based on
academic excellence and personal need.
How do credits transfer?
All credits earned overseas in an official UConn program
are recorded as direct UConn credits. Students should check
with their advisor to find out how the credits earned overseas
can be applied to their major. |
